Bea Lumpkin Centennial Party

  • Chicago Teachers Union Foundation 1901 West Carroll Avenue Chicago, IL, 60612 United States (map)

Beatrice Lumpkin, a lifelong activist dedicate to workplace and social justice, is turning 100!  The Bea Lumpkin Centennial Host Committee is sponsoring a celebration bringing together Bea’s friends, admirers and fellow warriors from many walks of life. The event will be a great opportunity to celebrate Bea Lumpkin both as an individual and as a social justice fighter.
We would like to invite you to join us, as a participant and/or sponsor, of this event.  If you are part of an organization, your group can assist by publicizing the party and inviting your members and contacts.  We welcome your involvement in whatever way you are able to help so that we can make this event special and significant for Bea and for Chicago’s progressive community.
The festivities will take place on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the Chicago Teachers Union Foundation, 1901 West Carrol Avenue, Chicago.   The party will begin with a social hour (cash bar) from 5:00-6:00 p.m. which will be followed by a buffet, a program of music, brief tributes, dancing and, of course, plenty of opportunity to talk and share stories and memories informally.
A video tribute is being planned; if you have pictures that you would like to share, please email to
We look forward to hearing from you and your organization and, of course, look forward to seeing you on Friday, August 3, 2018!
